Republicans Decry Ban of Pro-Life Doctors From OBGYN Conference
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynologists (ACOG) banned a group of prolife physicians from speaking at the annual conference on medical education. Four Republican congressmen now call for their peers to bring the ACOG to justice.
The American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists was stunned to find out that their stand had been cancelled by ACOG at its annual conference in National Harbor.
“The reported decision by ACOG—an organization purporting to represent all obstetrician-gynecologists—to exclude qualified health care professionals of maternal and child care from presenting at an annual conference because of their pro-life positions is hypocritical and outrageous,” In a statement on March 3, Reps. Chris Smith, Virginia Foxx (R.N.J.), Chip Roy and Diana Harshbarger were all quoted.
Christina Francis, the new President of AAPLOG said that for 15 years the group has presented without difficulty at the conference.
“Despite multiple requests for an explanation as to why, the only explanation we’ve received is a vague explanation that we disagree with ACOG, presumably on the issue of abortion,” Francis stated in “a video This was posted on Twitter Monday
