Trump’s Arraignment: A Display of Grace Under Pressure

Former President Donald Trump appeared in a Miami federal courthouse on Tuesday, where he was arraigned on 37 charges. Despite the seriousness of the situation, Trump remained stoic throughout the 48-minute hearing, maintaining his composure and displaying confidence in the face of prosecution by his political opponents.

Trump pleaded innocent on all counts, and was accompanied by his legal team, including Florida-based attorney Christopher Kisel and lawyer Todd Blanche. Also present was Trump’s longtime aide and now-codefendant, Walt Nauta.

While only a small number of the public were granted access to the proceeding, a large group of Trump supporters gathered outside the courthouse to show their support for the former president. Among them was 2022 Arizona Republican gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake, who Trump endorsed.

After the arraignment, Trump made a surprise stop at Versailles, a popular Cuban restaurant in Miami, where he was serenaded with a rendition of “Happy Birthday.” Trump turns 77 on Wednesday, which also happens to be “Flag Day” and the 248th birthday of the United States Army.

Trump also took the time to pray with a small group of supporters, displaying a sense of humility and faith in the face of adversity.
