Rep. Raskin falsely claims Trump supporters took part in church burning

The House impeachment team is grasping for straws, trying to blame the actions of a few violent extremists during a Black Lives Matter protest on Trump supporters.

In his argument on Wednesday, impeachment manager Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) suggested President Trump’s supporters were responsible for the damage done to the historic St. John’s Church in Washington D.C.

“That’s before the second million MAGA march, a rally that ended in serious violence, and even the burning of a church,” Raskin stated.

However, the horrific event that took place last year happened during a Black Lives Matter protest and was committed by violent extremists.

One of Trump’s lawyers condemned this language, saying it is dangerous.

“Yeah the evidence they have under no circumstances would make out a case for incitement. I thought that the argument we heard today from Congressman Raskin about what he understands the law to be was a dangerous a formulation as I’ve ever heard,” defense attorney David Schoen stated. “I think it puts at risk every, every senator in that chamber and every politician who wishes to speak passionate political speech.”

This is not the only piece of evidence presented by Democrats that has been debunked.
