Rep. MTG Slams McConnell for “Betrayal” in Pushing Biden’s Spending Bill

Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Wednesday slammed Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell for aiding the Democrats in pushing the nearly $2 trillion omnibus spending bill, which includes another $47 billion in aid for Ukraine. Between all the taxpayer-funded bloated spending and foreign aid, Greene says it’s “like the American people are raped everyday.”

“But in my district, many families & seniors can’t afford food & many businesses are struggling bc of Biden policies,” the Republican congresswoman said of McConnell’s expensive plan.

“For, Mitch McConnell, the Republican leader in the Senate to override the upcoming Republican majority and literally steal our responsibility in the House to appropriate spending for nearly half of our upcoming majority, just to help Biden & his retiring Senator friends, this is a betrayal that can NOT be ignored and there must be action taken,” Greene continued in a Twitter thread.

“We, Republicans, as a national party need to have a serious talk about supporting any member of our party that betrays us in this manner,” she added.

The end-of-year federal spending bill is 4,155 pages long, with another 2,670 pages of “explanatory materials,” making the total document 6,825 pages that Congress must vote on in just 3 days. 

Greene called the whopping bill an “omnimonster.”

“Our southern border is being invaded so badly and the American taxpayer’s dollars Mitch McConnell appropriated in this onnimonster only allows our money to help migrants into our country NOT keep them out.” she continued. “El Paso just declared a state of emergency & has been over run by nearly 140,000 (that we know of) migrants since October!”

On Saturday, El Paso, Texas Mayor Oscar Leeser announced the state of emergency in preparation for a massive surge of migrants who were on their way because of Title 42’s impending expiration on Wednesday. The statue is a Trump administration policy that allows for officials to expel illegal migrants  over health concerns.

“We know the influx on Wednesday will be incredible. It will be huge. On Wednesday our numbers will go from 2,500 to 4,000, 5,000, maybe 6,000,” the mayor said.

On Monday, struggling border towns caught a break when the Supreme Court issued a stay on the lifting of Title 42.

“But Mitch McConnell could not even negotiate with his dear friends Chuck Schumer and Joe Biden???” Greene continued in her take-down of her party’s Senate leader.

“Especially since they have all served together for almost as long as I’ve been alive?  And Mitch had all the control bc they couldn’t get to 60 votes without him & Republicans.”

She then shared a screen-recorded video, scrolling through a list of foreign aid the U.S. has doled out in 2022, including billions to Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan.

“The American taxpayers are literally paying to prop up many countries all over the world in foreign aid, but America is virtually crumbling before our eyes,” the Georgia representative wrote.

“It’s like the American people are raped everyday at the hands of their own elected leaders.”

On Tuesday, McConnell came under fire from fellow Republicans for saying that sending foreign aid to Ukraine is the “number one priority” for the party.

“Providing assistance for Ukrainians to defeat the Russians, that’s the number one priority for the United States right now according to most Republicans,” the Kentucky senator said to reporters.

Greene went on to shame politicians and members of the mainstream media who are “ignorant” enough to label her views as “extreme.”

“The disconnected & totally oblivious government leaders & sheltered media all live in a bubble & only talk to each other,” she said. “They’re so naive & ignorant they think my views are extreme but are totally blind and stupid to the fact that what I am saying is exactly how Americans feel.”

“Invading our land, destroying our economy, devaluing our dollar, killing our energy, destroying our own critical supplies, enslaving us in debt, harming our children, & castrating our independence while making us pay for it all, eventually won’t be tolerated,” the congresswoman concluded her thread.
