Rand Paul Says Staffer ‘Brutally Attacked’ In DC

On Monday, Sen. Rand Paul( R-KY ) revealed that one of his employees had been attacked over the weekend in Washington, D.C.

The lawmaker stated in a statement that the employee — whom he did not identify— is recovering and that an arrest suspect has been made.

A person of my people was viciously attacked in broad daylight in Washington, D.C., Paul claimed this past weekend.

Paul continued, referring to his family,” I ask you to add Kelley and me in praying for a quick and complete recovery and thanking the first responders, clinic staff, and officers for their meticulous things.”

We’re happy to hear that the believe was taken into custody. We may request privacy at this time so that everyone could concentrate on treatment and regeneration, Paul said.

According to investigators, Paul’s workplace confirmed that the worker was the same woman who, according to D.C. authorities, was attacked on Saturday on H Street NE.

The suspect was stabbed, according to the Metropolitan Police Department, and received life-threatening problems at a hospital.

Glynn Neal, 42, of Southeast D. C., was detained and charged with Assault with Intent to Kill ( Knife ), according to a police news release from Monday.

Following President Joe Biden’s signing of a bill that prevented changes to the D.C. that script that critics believed to be quite lenient on crime, the attack occurred.

Some Democrats in Congress had joined Republicans in opposing change that included lowering the minimum sentences for some violent acts.

Angie Craig, a House Democrat from Minnesota, gained notoriety last month after being brutally attacked in an airplane at her apartment complex in Washington, D.C. Police also detained 26-year-old Kendrick Hamlin in connection with the incident.

Due to an abuse in 2017 by a neighbour in Kentucky, Paul himself was severely hurt and suffered three broken ribs.

Paul claimed that after leaving the White House in 2020 to attend a speech by then-President Donald Trump for the Republican National Convention, he and his family were” attacked by an unhappy rabble.”
