‘Racist Sexist Bigots’: The Beatdown Of Star Wars’ Own Fanbase

Slowly but steadily, since Disney purchased Lucasfilm from George Lucas in 2012, the woke company has increasingly accused their own Star Wars fanbase for allegedly being racist sexist bigots.

As well documented by The Daily Wire, Disney has now made leftist social politics a part of the package. You will get a helping of Drag Queen with your Mickey Mouse, and a woke scolding with your Obi-Wan.

In the latest example of Disney beating on their Star Wars fandom, we’re expected to believe a large sect of the fanbase are racist bigots stirring up a backlash over the casting of “Obi-Wan Kenobi” actress Moses Ingram, who is black.

“We are proud to welcome Moses Ingram to the Star Wars family and excited for Reva’s story to unfold. If anyone intends to make her feel in any way unwelcome, we have only one thing to say: we resist,” Star Wars said via Twitter. “There are more than 20 million sentient species in the Star Wars galaxy, don’t choose to be a racist.”

Ewan McGregor, who plays Obi-Wan Kenobi, even made a video denouncing “some of the fanbase” as racists. He cited a handful of mean direct messages Ingram said she received.

“It seems that some of the fan base has decided to attack Moses Ingram online and send her the most horrendous, racist DMs (direct messages),” the actor said. “There’s no place for racism in this world.”

In the same breath, McGregor noted that “Obi-Wan” broke a major record as “the most-watched Disney+ series premiere of all time.”

Moreover, Disney-owned Lucasfilm apparently prepped Ingram for incoming hate.

“It was something that Lucasfilm actually got in front of, and said, ‘This is a thing that, unfortunately, likely will happen. But we are here to help you; you can let us know when it happens,’” Ingram told The Independent about alleged incoming racism from Star Wars fans.

The show’s director Deborah Chow, Ingram revealed, was “putting the proper systems in place so I feel safe as we do the work” during production, according to IndieWire. “Of course, there are always pockets of hate,” the actress added. “But I have no problem with the block button.”

But there appears to be no racist backlash against Star Wars, or “Obi-Wan,” or Ingram. As Jim Treacher outlined perfectly on Substack, here’s the formula Disney and Star Wars used to create this controversy, and subsequently trash their fans:

Not to mention, Star Wars fans have historically embraced black and female characters, including the character of Lando Calrissian, played by black actor Billy Dee Williams; Mace Windu, played by black actor Samuel L. Jackson; Finn played by John Boyega; Natalie Portman’s Padmé Amidala, Carrie Fisher’s Princess Leia, and Felicity Jones’ Jyn Erso in the very recent “Rogue One.”

Still, the beatdown of Star Wars’ own fans, under the leadership of Disney, is habitual.

J.J. Abrams in 2018 wrote-off Star Wars fans critical of “The Last Jedi” as sexist.

“Their problem isn’t ‘Star Wars,’ their problem is being threatened,” Abrams said of fans unhappy with the film, Indiewire reported. “If you are someone who feels threatened by women and needs to lash out against them, you can probably find an enemy in ‘Star Wars.’”

Abrams seemed to agree that criticism from fans was simply rooted in sexism and said “fan outcry” would “not in the least” impact how he moves forward with Star Wars, the report added.

The film was trashed by fans for “blatant disrespect to the lore,” betraying “each beloved character and theme,” and “ruin[ing] Luke and everything he stood for,” earning a dismal 42% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Even the fraction of comments that were tied to complaints about “diversity” were from fans complaining about the lore, characters, or storylines that were trashed in exchange for the forced agenda. This does not make one sexist. 

In another example, Lucasfilm creative executive Pablo Hidalgo in 2019 reportedly called Star Wars fans “s***ty a**holes & s***heads” and retweeted posts slamming fans as a “racist, sexist, Intel misogynist, hate group,” before eventually locking his Twitter account.

Moreover, from the same account, Hidalgo mocked one of the biggest Star Wars YouTubers, Star Wars Theory, (who had a stunning 2.7 million subscribers at the time of the incident, and now has 3.2 million subs), for having an emotional reaction to seeing Luke Skywalker appear in “The Mandalorian.”
