In response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s attempts to overhaul the country’s judicial framework, thousands of citizens across the country are protesting and striking to try and halt the leader’s plan.

Yoav Gallant, the minister of defense, was fired by Netanyahu after he pressed the prime minister’s office to put the administrative overhaul plans on hold. As a result, thousands of Jewish citizens flocked to Tel Aviv later on Sunday night to protest. As of 4 a.m. EST, flights have been halted at Ben Gurion Airport following the Histadrut work union’s declaration of fire. According to Haaretz, 73, 000 travellers were anticipated to pass through the crowded airports on Monday.
