Pro-police flag banned in Washington school, but not pro-BLM and LGBT flags

Leftist hypocrisy in schools is being called out almost daily now, with absurd double standards in classrooms – mostly in public schools – coming to light as students and parents become more aware of pervasive liberal propaganda about gender, race and law enforcement.

The latest: A Washington state teacher was required to remove a pro-police, “thin blue line” flag from her classroom over claims it is a “political symbol.” Meanwhile, posters and banners supporting Black Lives Matter and LGBT “Pride” can easily be found elsewhere in the school.

Ironically is was a form of pride – pride in a sibling with an essential and difficult job – that prompted the teacher in question to put up the “thin blue line” flag in her classroom at Marysville Middle School. She has a brother who served as a police officer, and had put up the flag to honor him and his job – accompanied by photos of him.

The brother, Chris Sutherland, a former police officer with the Marysville Police Department in Washington, told “The Jason Rantz Show” on KTTH about the official censoring of the display.

The teacher herself is remaining anonymous, but said the trouble began when an assistant principal at the school objected to a “thin blue line” sticker on her laptop, claiming that people were concerned “how students, families, and community members might interpret what the image is intending to communicate and that this interpretation may cause a disruption to the learning environment,” Rantz reported, after examining HR documents about the matter.

The objections were dropped and the teacher went on to post the pro-police flag in her classroom. It was then that a second assistant principal ordered it removed, and an HR official for the district told the teacher in writing that the district was “highly concerned about the impact of this political symbol on students, staff, and families of Marysville Middle School.”

The teacher was told to “refrain from using the ‘Thin Blue Line Flag’ symbol” in the school or face “further disciplinary action.”

Sutherland said messages supporting BLM and homosexuality are allowed in the school.

“There’s also, she was telling me, BLM stuff hanging on walls, which she was told is OK. Just for whatever reason, just the Thin Blue Line flag cannot be hung up there,” said Sutherland, who serves as a resource officer during the fatal Marysville Pilchuck High School shooting in 2014.
