President Biden’s speech in South Carolina was temporarily halted by pro-Palestine protesters calling for a ceasefire.
The demonstrators interrupted his remarks at Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston on Monday. Protesters stated that if Biden truly cared about the loss of life, he would call for a ceasefire in Gaza.
“If you really care about the lives lost here, then you should honor the lives lost and call for a cease-fire in Palestine,” one woman could be heard shouting.
The group was quickly escorted away. Biden stated that he understood the protesters passion.
“I understand their passion and I’ve been quietly working with the Israeli government to get them to reduce and significantly get out of Gaza,” Biden said.
He went on to say he is doing all that he can.
The crowd of Biden supporters proceeded to chant “four more years” as the demonstrators were being escorted out.
This is not the first time that pro-Palestine protesters have disrupted one of the presidents events. Since the October 7th terrorist attack, where Hamas infuriated Israel and killed more than 1,000 Israelis, Biden has encountered countless protests.
