Pro-Lifers Press Jeanine Pirro To Investigate Late-Term Abortions
A coalition of nine pro-life organizations has called on interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, Jeanine Pirro, to investigate potential cases of infanticide involving five late-term aborted babies, referred to as the “D.C. Five.” These infants were recovered from an abortion clinic operated by Cesare Santangelo and were previously housed by pro-life advocate Lauren Handy. the coalition argues that evidence was mishandled by the Biden Administration, which allegedly sought to obstruct investigations related to violations of the Partial-Birth abortion Act and the Born-Alive Infant Protection Act.
The letter from the pro-life groups highlights concerns that the Department of Justice under Biden attempted to suppress details of the case while prosecuting activists for their involvement in recovering the bodies. Some activists were charged under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act. trump later pardoned several of these individuals, though they argue that their actions were aimed at protecting the unborn rather than committing a crime.
The groups emphasize the need for accountability and adherence to legal standards in protecting the lives of vulnerable unborn children. They urge Pirro to take the necessary steps to investigate and uphold the law in the nation’s capital. This request builds upon previous efforts by Republican representatives to call for federal investigations into what they describe as a coverup by the Biden Administration regarding later-term abortions.
A coalition of nine pro-life organizations led by Advancing American Freedom sent a letter on Tuesday to interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro pressing her to investigate the suspected infanticide of five babies at the hands of a Washington, D.C., abortionist.
Members of the Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising recovered the tiny victims, often referred to as the “D.C. Five,” from late-term abortionist Cesare Santangelo’s Washington, D.C., facility.
The 2022 discovery of the preemie-sized dead babies, which were held at PAAU Director of Activism Lauren Handy’s house, should have prompted an investigation into “possible violations of the Partial-Birth Abortion Act and the Born-Alive Infant Protection Act.” Instead, the letter notes, “the Biden Administration worked to sweep the allegations under the rug and silence the individuals involved by prosecuting them.”
It was under Biden’s Department of Justice that Handy and nine other advocates for life were charged with allegedly violating the unconstitutional Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act and participating in a Conspiracy Against Rights. The defendants faced up to 11 years in federal prison, an extreme expansion of the punishment other pro-lifers faced.
Trump eventually pardoned 23 of the pro-lifers targeted by the Democrat regime for their peaceful opposition to abortion, including Handy and her fellow PAAU activists. Damage to the D.C. Five’s chance at justice, however, was already done.
“President Biden’s Department of Justice allegedly ordered the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department to incinerate the evidence,” the letter adds. “Thankfully, Members of Congress took shrewd steps to protect the evidence through preservation of evidence requests.”
According to the signees — Advancing American Freedom, Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, Students for Life of America, Family Research Council, Live Action, Concerned Women for America, Human Coalition, Catholic Vote, and the American Family Association — the next step is for Pirro to “defend the rule of law and the sanctity of human life in Washington, D.C.”
“As the Interim United States Attorney for Washington, D.C., it is your responsibility to follow the facts where they may lead and enforce federal law to protect those most vulnerable in our nation’s capital: the unborn,” the letter concludes.
The pro-lifers’ request builds on an effort from Republican Reps. Chip Roy and Andy Biggs, who asked the FBI to investigate “the Biden Administration’s coverup of later aborted babies” in April.
