President Trump: N.Y. charges are a political witch hunt by radical Dems

President Trump blasted New York Democrats for pursuing politically motivated charges against members of the Trump organization. Trump said the charges against his business by New York prosecutors are politically motivated.

In a statement on Thursday, the 45th president said the indictment of his chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg is a political witch hunt by radical left Democrats. Trump stressed the case against the business is dividing our country even more.

According to the indictment, Weisselberg is accused of being involved in a tax fraud scheme for receiving $1.7 million worth of “illegally received tax-free perks such as apartments and car leases.” They added that nobody was criminally charged for similar conduct in the past year.

The Trump organization’s attorneys also said cases of corporate benefits and compensations very rarely involve criminal charges. In the meantime, Weisselberg was released without bail and said he intends to fight the charges.
