Singer Oliver Anthony Shares His‌ Faith and Reads Bible on “The Joe Rogan Experience”

Singer Oliver Anthony​ made a surprising appearance on “The Joe Rogan⁢ Experience” podcast, bringing with him a Bible and a message of faith.

Reflecting ‌on his past, Anthony spoke about finding peace through the Bible, saying, “That guy found a lot of peace from this book.”

Although he grew up attending church,⁢ Anthony ⁤became disillusioned with the theatrics and politics he witnessed within religion.

Rogan asked Anthony to share his journey of rediscovering his faith.

“I went to the ER for everything that ‌was going on,” Anthony revealed. “I thought ⁤I was seriously going to die.” Anthony has been open about his⁢ struggles with alcoholism and mental ⁢health.

Feeling hopeless and broken, Anthony had a moment of realization. He decided to make​ a change, vowing to give up drugs and alcohol and to let go of‌ his anger towards life.

His new direction was to shift his focus from himself to God.

Later in the podcast, Anthony picked up his Bible and read from Proverbs 4, prompting Rogan to exclaim, “Preach!”

“My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your⁤ ear to my words,” Anthony read.

“Do not⁣ let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart;‍ for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body. Above ‌all else, guard your heart,‍ for everything you do flows ‍from it. Keep your mouth free from perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your ⁢gaze directly before you.”

Discussing ​the origins of his viral hit song, “Rich Men North of⁢ Richmond,” Anthony admitted that it⁤ wasn’t initially one of his⁤ top choices.

Rogan described the song as an “unlikely anthem” for these “insane times.”

“I had ‌no idea that that song would react the way it did,” ​Anthony responded.
