The U.S. Postal Service has proposed another increase to its Forever Stamps, which have consistently gone up in price to combat inflation.
The newly proposed price would uptick the stamp’s cost from 68 cents to 73 cents, an increase of a little less than 8%. Other mailing items affected by this increase include letters being sent internationally and postcards.
The Postal Service has argued that these price increases are needed to keep up with inflation while clarifying that these prices will be reviewed before they are commissioned.
If approved, the new prices will be implemented starting July 14.

The Postal Service’s last price increase was announced in October and had its new prices in place by Jan. 21. In the past two years, the mailing company has raised its prices five different times.
The announcement comes after inflation rose 0.6% to 2.1% for the year ending in March, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported on Thursday.
