Police have released new video footage of a person of interest linked to the Brown University mass shooting that occurred on December 13, 2025, in Providence, rhode Island. The Providence Police shared three videos, apparently captured by Ring doorbell cameras, showing a man wearing a black hat and mask, a dark green-and-black jacket, and long black pants walking near several houses. The FBI described the individual as a stocky-built male, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, and warned that he should be considered armed and dangerous. Though a person of interest was arrested soon after the incident, that individual was quickly ruled out as the shooter. The shooting resulted in two fatalities and nine injuries, and officials continue efforts to apprehend the suspect.

The Providence Police released three new videos showing the person of interest, apparently taken from Ring doorbell camera footage. The three videos show a person with a black hat and mask, a dark green-and-black jacket, and long black pants walking past several houses. The police urged the public to report any tips to a hotline at 401-272-3121 or the FBI’s tip line.
The FBI issued its own wanted poster, offering $50,000 for any information leading to the apprehension of the person of interest.
The bureau described the person of interest as a male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a “stocky build.”
It also said the person of interest should be considered armed and dangerous.
The videos are particularly useful, as Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha admitted on Sunday that the university doesn’t have many cameras.
“There just weren’t a lot of cameras in that Brown building, is the reality,” Neronha said. “I mean, we’re not holding back a video that we think would be useful. And I don’t think I should even have to say it. … I don’t know what to tell you, but we’re going to go out and find whatever evidence we can to solve this case as quickly as we can.”

It has been over 48 hours since the gunman entered a classroom at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, on Saturday afternoon and opened fire, killing two people and injuring nine. A person of interest was arrested shortly after the shooting, but was soon deemed not to have been the shooter.
Over 400 law enforcement officers, including FBI agents and agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, are taking part in the massive manhunt.
