Piers Morgan Rips ‘Insufferable Woke Brats’ Upset Over ‘Snow White’ Consensual Kiss Controversy

Piers Morgan jumped into the debate surrounding the alleged “non-consensual” kiss on display at Disneyland’s updated “Snow White” ride.

In a lengthy op-ed for the Daily Mail, the former “Good Morning Britain” host told the “insufferable woke brats” to leave the famed fairy tale alone.

As The Daily Wire reported on Monday, Katie Dowd, the managing editor for SFGATE, a website launched by the San Francisco Chronicle, wrote a review of Disneyland’s recently updated “Snow White” ride alongside Julie Tremaine. Though the review was mostly positive, the two felt it was entirely necessary to criticize the ride for featuring the iconic scene in which the prince awakens Snow White from her eternal sleep by way of a kiss:

The new grand finale of Snow White’s Enchanted Wish is the moment when the Prince finds Snow White asleep under the Evil Queen’s spell and gives her “true love’s kiss” to release her from the enchantment. A kiss he gives to her without her consent, while she’s asleep, which cannot possibly be true love if only one person knows it’s happening.

Haven’t we already agreed that consent in early Disney movies is a major issue? That teaching kids that kissing, when it hasn’t been established if both parties are willing to engage, is not OK? It’s hard to understand why the Disneyland of 2021 would choose to add a scene with such old fashioned ideas of what a man is allowed to do to a woman, especially given the company’s current emphasis on removing problematic scenes from rides like Jungle Cruise and Splash Mountain. Why not re-imagine an ending in keeping with the spirit of the movie and Snow White’s place in the Disney canon, but that avoids this problem?

In his op-ed, Morgan first scolded the authors of the piece for reaching “the absolute nadir of mind-numbingly stupid wokery” amid a global pandemic that has created real problems for real people.

“The lunatic woke brigade, seemingly oblivious to what’s happening in the real world, have spent the past 15 months continuing to bleat about any ‘micro-aggression’ that upsets them,” wrote Morgan. “And as we know, that means pretty much everything – from chess being ‘racist’ (white always starts) to fat-free frozen yoghurt triggering eating disorder distress (thank you, Demi ‘dimwit’ Lovato).”

“Today though, we’ve reached the absolute nadir of mind-numbingly stupid wokery, an achievement for which the bar is staggeringly low,” he continued. “The latest target of their whiny self-righteous ire is Disney’s newly revamped Snow White’s Enchanted Wish ride at the theme park in Anaheim, California, which has just reopened after 400 days.”

To illustrate the lunacy of the feminists’ gripe over the “non-consensual” kiss, Morgan then noted how events of the actual “Snow White” story unfolded, culminating in the eventual kiss that saves “Snow White” from the eternal sleep. Contrary to the feminists assertions, the prince kisses his beloved princess while under the impression that she had died, meaning it as a parting farewell to the woman he loved.

“There’s not a single part of this delightful, charming and uplifting tale that couldn’t warm even the stoniest of hearts,” said Morgan. “The bad guys lose – the wicked Queen dies – and the good guys win. Self-evidently, none of the Prince’s behavior could be remotely described as ‘problematic’ because he saved his sweetheart’s life.”
