Piers Morgan Rips Harry And Meghan, ‘Woke Brigade’s’ Cancel Culture War In Moment-By-Moment Account Of Firing

Former “Good Morning Britain” host Piers Morgan laid into Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and took aim at the “woke brigade” that defended the formerly royal pair, in a point-by-point account of the events leading to his unscheduled departure from the UK morning program.

Morgan was fired from GMB after an on-air incident that had Morgan walking off set after being criticized for saying he did not believe a number of claims Meghan Markle made during a blockbuster interview with Oprah Winfrey, including that she had suicidal thoughts while pregnant and was refused help from the royal family’s human resources department.

Markle, according to Marie Claire, made a formal complaint about Morgan to his network, ITV, “raising concerns” that Morgan’s comments could prevent others dealing with mental illness from seeking professional help.

Morgan detailed the situation in his report, starting with his impression of Markle’s behavior during the Oprah interview.

“I expected such disingenuous, self-serving wrecking-ball stuff from a social-climbing Hollywood actress like Ms. Markle, but for Harry to publicly shred his family and the Monarchy like this, while Prince Philip was seriously ill in hospital, is so out of character for a man who once bravely served his Queen and country in war,” Morgan said, adding that the interview made him “angry to the point of boiling over.”

Morgan then said there was a single factor motivating his disbelief in Meghan’s claims of mental illness: that Harry, who was a vocal proponent of therapy and attached to a number of high profile mental health charities, was somehow unable to get her help. That one issue, for Morgan, cast doubt on the full interview.

“Once you know someone’s lying about some things, how can you believe anything else they’re saying without hard evidence to support it?” he said.

He then blasted Markle for telling “her truth,” suggesting that the subjective nature of that phrase gives him pause on her objective honesty.

But criticizing Markle is no small matter, he added. The issue quickly morphed from an “inappropriate” statement to a “racist” one.

“It appears that questioning Meghan’s fork-tongued ‘truth’ is now a racist hate crime,” Morgan wrote. “Sadly, this is where we’ve now arrived in society: the truth can be whatever someone decides it is, so Meghan Markle must be believed because it’s ‘her truth’. And if you don’t believe her, you’re a racist.”

He then explained why he refused to accept responsibility for questioning Markle’s claims: it would have made him a prime target for what he called

“And even if I did apologize, that wouldn’t be the end of it. The woke brigade would keep coming for me, demanding I apologize for everything else they find offensive – which of course, is absolutely everything,”

Morgan wrote Sunday that he has “no hard feelings” towards his former employer — he reserves those feelings for the “woke brigade.

“I don’t have any problem with ITV, my problem is with the increasingly insidious woke cancel culture that’s now infesting all companies like ITV,” Morgan said. “If allowed to continue unchecked, it will make it virtually impossible for anyone with an opinionated personality to survive in any workplace.”
