Photos: Trump visits North Dakota to open Roosevelt Presidential Library

President Donald Trump visited North Dakota to tour the new theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library ahead of its opening on July 1, 2026. His trip was part of the Freedom 250 celebration commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States. Trump arrived on a special “Freedom250” train, symbolizing the railroadS role in American history, and was greeted by Rough Rider reenactors portraying Roosevelt’s cavalry.He toured the 96,000-square-foot library, delivered remarks highlighting Roosevelt as a “true American hero,” and praised him during his speech. Trump also presented Theodore roosevelt’s Medal of Honor to the library and spoke at the Burning Hills Amphitheater. The event included the unveiling of the new Air Force One plane from Qatar and various patriotic tributes to American history.


President Donald Trump traveled to North Dakota on Wednesday to tour the brand new Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library ahead of its grand opening on Independence Day.

The event, organized by Freedom 250, showcased the $450 million project, which was boosted by Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, a former North Dakota governor.

The president’s trip to North Dakota began with his arrival on a ceremonial Freedom 250 train, paying tribute to the railroad industry that played an essential role in the American West’s development and growth.

Upon arrival, Trump was escorted to the library by Rough Rider impersonators, evoking Roosevelt’s legendary cavalry regiment.

Trump praised Roosevelt during the remarks, calling him a “true American hero.”
