Pelosi’s Statement On Trump Really Gives The Game Away

The indictment of former President Donald Trump by Manhattan Alvin Bragg has brought to light the highly politicized nature of the American justice system. Despite the principle of “innocent until proven guilty” being the cornerstone of the American justice system, it seems that Pelosi and the Democrats have already deemed Trump to be guilty.

Pelosi’s tweet stating that “No one is above the law, and everyone has the right to a trial to prove innocence” seems to imply that Trump is not innocent until proven guilty, but rather he has to prove his innocence in a trial. This contradicts the fundamental principle of American justice.

Since his election victory in 2016, Trump has been the target of a politically motivated witch-hunt by Democrats who have been unable to prove any wrongdoing on his part. Now, the Left has found an ally in Alvin Bragg, who has been backed by George Soros and reportedly downgraded 52% of felonies to misdemeanors in 2022.

The case against Trump seems to be flimsy at best, with attorney and law professor Jonathan Turley describing it as “legally pathetic”. The contention is that a hush money payment made to a porn star was a political expenditure rather than a personal expense that broke the law. If Trump is indicted, it could set a dangerous precedent for the future of American politics, making it easier for politically motivated prosecutions to take place.

The fact that such a high-ranking member of Congress as Pelosi would publicly dismiss the fundamental cornerstone of the American justice system is a worrying sign for the future of justice in America.
