Pelosi fears Biden might have unintentionally helped Marjorie Taylor Greene

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) believes it was an error for President Joe Biden to mention former President Donald Trump and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) by name.

Pelosi fears that Biden’s remarks could inadvertently assist Greene’s fundraising efforts.

The comment comes after Biden mentioned Greene in his speech introducing his federal budget proposal. Greene frequently makes controversial statements and promotes conspiracy theories.

Recently, Greene’s profile has seen a resurgence, as she is now back on House Committees in this Congress. The House voted to remove Greene from her committees in February 2021, following the emergence of several controversial social media posts, including accusations of Parkland being a fake shooting, anti-Semitic comments, and promoting the QAnon conspiracy.

Pelosi specifically avoids mentioning Trump by name and also cringed when Biden called Trump “the former president and maybe future president.”

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Pelosi criticized House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for providing over 40,000 hours of Capitol Police footage from Jan. 6, 2021 to Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson. She said that “recklessness” defines the Republicans.

Pelosi plans to be more vocal in defending the nation’s democracy and is currently writing a book.
