Paul Driessen: Childish Beliefs Drive Energy and Agricultural Agendas

Many eco-activists have difficulty thinking beyond slogans. They believe that declaring ecological emergencies, repeating clever slogans and issuing mandates and proclamations will lead to a utopia of organic farming, free from fossil fuels, will make it possible. In their dreams.

American farmers have seen an increase in their numbers since 1950. Corn yields per acre by an incredible 500% – and other crop yields by smaller but still amazing amounts, while using less land, water, fuel, fertilizers and pesticides. Their exports contributed to reducing global hunger and malnutrition. Farmers in BrazilIndia  Other countries In recent years, harvests have been record-breaking all over the world. They have many acclaims. “roots.”

Hybrid seeds combine the best traits of different plants. Biotech seeds help crops resist viruses and insects as well as reduce pesticide and water consumption. Nitrogen fertilizers (synthesized Natural gasIn supercharging soils, phosphorus and potassium () are joined by phosphorus. Libraries of agricultural success tools are available online and in schools. Increased Atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) further spurs plant growth

Long-lasting herbicides are effective in controlling weeds that could otherwise steal nutrients and moisture from crops. This allows farmers to use no-till farming, which avoids the destruction of soils, reduces erosion and preserves vital soil organisms. Israeli-developed drip irrigation supplies water without the evaporation associated with other irrigation methods.

Modern high-tech tractor technology uses GPS, sensors, cameras, and other equipment to precisely steer the tractor across the fields. They also continuously measure soil composition and inject the correct amounts of fertilizers, insecticides, and herbicides to ensure optimal harvests.

Recommendation

Imagine the bounty of crops humanity could reap if all these technologies were spread around the globe.

Instead, this planet-saving, life-saving progress is under assault – by well-meaning or ideologically driven, ill-advised or ill-intended … but all well-funded … Organizations that want natural gas bans “more Earth friendly” Agriculture and a return “traditional farming lifestyles.”

Although they are adamant about biotech crops, their hatred is well-documented. They also hate hybrid seeds. They are against modern herbicides, insecticides, and want them to be banned. “natural” Alternatives often toxic to bees, animals and people – and may actually be synthetic (eg, neurotoxic pyrethrins). They require “natural” Modern synthetic fertilizers often only provide a fraction of the nutrients found in traditional fertilizers.

They want to be teachers only “traditional” (aka SubsistenceEspecially in Africa, it is called farming. They prefer to call it “farming”. “food sovereignty” – which they claim is the “right” To “culturally appropriate” Food produced through “ecologically sound and sustainable methods,” In accordance with Policies in AgroEcology. This means that millions more people (ruling elites, their children) are involved. Doing backbreaking stoop labor from dawn to dusk

Tractors? What is wrong with horses, oxen, or human labor? Electric tractors and trucks should be replaced by gasoline- and diesel-powered tractors and trucks. You should also consider the fact that several EV tractors or combines will be required. Tons You could still use the battery modules but wouldn’t be capable of doing a full day of work without long recharges.

Oil and gas should be kept in the ground. We don’t require petrochemicals, particularly synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides. Paint, tractor tires, windows, GPS/computer housings and many other items.

Are these illiterates able to look at their clothes, food and homes? Synthetic fabrics, cosmetics, cell phone and computer housings, pharmaceuticals, tapes and adhesives, protective gear, eyeglasses, car bodies, detergents, wind turbine nacelle covers and blades, medical devices, car bodies – practically everything around them and in their lives exists because of Petroleum chemicals, oil and gas

However, biofuels can only be used to replace feed stocks for products that we actually need, they claim. Right.

Eliminating oil, gas and petrochemicals from gasoline engines and internal-combustion engines will ensure that there is no need for ethanol to be added as an additive. This would mean that corn could no longer be grown on 36,000,000 acres, which is equivalent to Iowa. The land could then be used to produce food crops and wildlife habitat. It won’t.

Organic farms yield significantly less per acre. require far more land Unlike conventional agriculture. Worse, to stop oil and gas production, tens of thousands of acres would need to be cultivated. Biofuel crops can be plantedTo provide feed stocks to thousands of currently-petrochemical products.

That means vastly more tractors or human labor – and more water, fertilizers and pesticides – to cultivate and harvest Sugar and oilseed crops (and algae). Then, all those simple biofuel molecules will have to be transformed into complex hydrocarbons to provide the feed stocks. That would require even more energy, from even more wind turbines and solar panels – on top of doubling or tripling our existing electricity needs, to transform the U.S. and global economies to all-electric systems, and repeatedly recharge the grid-balancing and power backup batteries those systems would require.

Maybe Team Biden just wants to do it all. Import all those petrochemicals and/or products – as it seems to be planning with regard to wind turbines, solar panels, battery modules, transformers and other “green” energy equipment. America will not be capable of producing any of this because Team Biden is with its allies Oppose miningUSA drilling (even for oil) raw materials It is essential to their utopian existence “renewable” energy transformation – and we won’t even have affordable, reliable electricity to operate factories.

These can be done in a number of ways. “best and brightest” decision-makers and advisors be so ignorant, inept and clueless – so unable to connect even two or three dots? They are destroying the planet, habitats, and wildlife. “Save the Earth” Starting at a computer-modeled “climate crisis” Biden insists that President Obama is “a greater threat” More than nuclear war.”

Critical policies that profoundly affect livelihoods and lives all over the world are based on their childish belief in Santa Claus and Harry Potter. They think we can banish today’s energy and agricultural resources and technologies – and amazing replacements will just Be there … by some mystical, mythical process called Materials Acquisition For Government-mandated Infrastructure Change (MAGIC).

While they know it cannot happen, some of them promote the policies anyway. They believe they can make that happen. “common folks” The only option is to live alone in 700-square foot apartments. They’ll need electricity but not when it’s needed.

They believe Africa would be. “the perfect laboratory” You can test new foods with these “crackers, muffins, meat loaves and sausages” Made from lake fly flies. If all else fails, they’ll just impose Forced rationing.

Others might go further. Obama science advisor John Holdren Advocated “de-development of the [United States and other over-developed countries] and semi-development of the under-developed countries, to approach a decent and ecologically sustainable standard of living for all in between.”

Oceanographer Jacques Cousteau Once said, “in order to stabilize world populations, we must eliminate 350,000 people per day.” Environmental Defense scientist Charles Wurster “People are the cause of all the problems…. We need to get rid of some of them, and [banning DDT] is as good a way as any.”

Modern agricultural practices and technologies and the extermination of fossil fuels go beyond being callous and immoral. They also go beyond eco-imperialism and eco-colonialism. It is mass murder on a global level via energy, climate and farming policy. It is systematic and systemic racism.

These ideas, as well as their proponents, should be thrown out of government, media, academic, and other institutions. These are not the amazing technologies that make modern living possible.
