The 2026 Super Bowl in Santa Clara, California, will be the Seahawks’s first Super Bowl appearance since 2015, when they lost to the Patriots. The game effectively ended with an infamous play call by then-Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, who opted to have then-quarterback Russell Wilson throw the ball at the one-yard line instead of handing it off to running back Marshawn Lynch. Wilson’s throw was intercepted, sealing the game for the Patriots.

The president signed an executive order on Friday detailing the race, which will be free to the public and take place on the National Mall from Aug. 21-23. “He loves sports,” Burgum said during the Oval Office signing. “I mean, to any American who loves sports, you ought to love this president, because he’s bringing professional sports to our capital.”
