Package with suspicious powder and threatening note delivered to Manhattan DA’s office

A suspicious package with white powder and a note threatening Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg was delivered to the Manhattan DA’s building on Friday, according to New York police.

A statement was included in the bundle, which was delivered to the office building’s mail room. Alvin, I’ll shoot you, a law enforcement official told Fox News. On the scene, the powder was deemed” nonhazardous ,” and no evacuation has been ordered.

In an internet to staff over the weekend, Bragg stated that” we do not bear attempts to intimidate our work or harm the rule of law in New York.”

” To ensure that all 1,600 of us have a stable work environment, our law enforcement partners will make sure that any specific or reputable threats against the office are thoroughly investigated.

The package arrives as Bragg looks into the allegations of calm cash payment to porn star Stormy Daniels in 2016 and considers the possibility of an indictment against former President Donald Trump. The complex is typically where a great jury that has been hearing the prosecution’s case meets, but it doesn’t fulfill on Fridays.

The grand jury was expected to vote on Trump’s indictment this week after hearing from at least one more witness on Wednesday, but the proceedings were canceled, and the jury focused on other cases.

Trump claimed in a post on Truth Social last year that he would be detained this next Tuesday based on rumors coming from the district attorney’s office. He urged his backers to voice their opposition to the charge. Meanwhile, Bragg asserted that Trump” created a false expectation” that he would be arrested when the indictment failed to materialize.

According to numerous news reports, the former senator has not been informed whether Bragg intends to file claims against him.
