‘One by one, cities will fall’ from socialism: Joe Concha

Joe Concha, a Washington Examiner columnist, criticized socialists for their influence over the Democratic Party and their promotion of anti-Israel rhetoric. He highlighted how some politicians, like Rep. Dan Goldman, face backlash from pro-Palestine factions, and suggested that left-wing rhetoric, including accusations of genocide against Israel, is used to garner political support and win elections. Concha also noted that younger voters are increasingly attracted to socialism due to promises of free benefits and victimhood narratives, which they believe can improve their lives. He expressed concern that the Democratic Party is shifting away from traditional allies like Israel, pointing to past controversies involving figures with Nazi tattoos and comparing the current party’s direction to a potential decline of American cities under socialism’s influence. Concha argued that establishment Democrats are losing ground as socialist-leaning groups become more organized and energized.

Washington Examiner columnist Joe Concha criticized socialists for taking over establishment Democrats and encouraging anti-Israel rhetoric.

“Bash Israel, even go so far as to say it shouldn’t exist, and that gets you power, it gets you clicks and likes on social media,” Concha said on Fox News’s Fox & Friends First Tuesday.

Concha highlighted the backlash Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) received over his pro-Israel views, which led to him being banned from a New York coffee shop. A social media post from the coffee shop shared an image of Goldman and a receipt for a refund, according to screenshots taken of the now-deleted post.

Concha argued that while Goldman is a Democrat, he’s not seen as far enough left for the party to embrace him in New York.

“Brad Lander, Goldman’s opponent, has accused Israel of committing genocide and called Israel an apartheid state. And in New York City, this kind of rhetoric, that’s what wins you elections these days,” Concha said.

Concha said Goldman is seen as an establishment Democrat, and young voters are being drawn to the party with promises of free things.

Concha said people in places like New York City say, “‘Let’s start over, let’s go with socialism. Maybe because of all the free stuff they’re promising, maybe my life will be better.’ So, it’s the victimhood here that Democrat socialists are preying on, and it’s working right now.”

“There are so many out there right now, especially young voters, who believe that because of their state right now, or they don’t believe they can achieve the American dream, they blame the system. ‘The system needs to be taken down.’ Some people want to watch the world burn,” Concha said.

Concha said Democrats’ anti-Israel rhetoric may reflect a broader shift in the party’s views toward Israel.

“It’s incredible that this is the same party that is embracing a guy with a Nazi tattoo on his chest for 20 years. That is their mascot at this point, and that’s the direction of the party,” Concha said.

‘AT THIS POINT, ESTABLISHMENT DEMOCRATS ARE DEAD’: JOE CONCHA

Concha was referring to Graham Platner, the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate in Maine. Platner came under fire for a Nazi tattoo that he had covered up.

“One by one, cities will fall in this country as a result of socialism taking over. Because that party, the Democratic socialist party, is far better organized, has a lot more money, and has the energy behind it right now,” Concha said.
