Jim Jordan is ready to respond to the Durham Report and is open to all possibilities.

Top GOP Lawmaker Sees Durham Report as Guide for Further Russiagate Investigation

Special counsel John Durham’s report has provided a roadmap for Congress to delve deeper into the Russiagate controversy, according to House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH).

During an appearance on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” Jordan discussed how he plans to follow up on investigative leads from Durham’s report, which heavily criticized the FBI’s probe into alleged links between Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russia.

Investigative Leads to Pursue

  • Talk with lawyers and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) on where to proceed from here
  • Identify people highlighted in the Durham report that the Judiciary Committee needs to talk to
  • Consider another investigation into former President Bill Clinton and his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton

Jordan emphasized that nothing is off the table, as it is critical for the American people to understand how their government and agencies have been turned against them. He also invited Durham to testify before the Judiciary Committee, which has jurisdiction in the matter.

While Jordan did not confirm whether Durham has agreed to testify, he highlighted the report’s findings that the FBI had no probable cause, predicate, or evidence to launch an investigation into President Trump and his campaign.

Reining in the FBI

Jordan also expressed concerns about the FBI’s misuse of surveillance tools and whistleblower allegations of political rot within the law enforcement agency. He listed two areas of focus for lawmakers:

  • Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) reforms
  • The appropriations process

“We have to exercise our authority, the power of the purse, to limit what the federal government, what the FBI and the Justice Department are doing to the American people,” Jordan said.
