ABC analyst claims Hunter Biden received harsher treatment due to his connection to Joe Biden.

President Biden’s Son Hunter Biden Receives Harsher Treatment, Claims Legal Analyst

News Nation host and ABC News Chief Legal Analyst Dan Abrams made a bold statement on Wednesday, suggesting that Hunter Biden, the embattled son of President Joe Biden, faced more severe consequences from the Justice Department due to his last name.

Abrams joined host George Stephanopoulos on ABC News’s “Good Morning America” to discuss the issue. He argued that if Republicans were not attempting to connect the president to his alleged crimes, Hunter Biden might not have been prosecuted at all.

ABC’s chief justice correspondent Pierre Thomas highlighted the political context, suggesting that the Republican party aimed to tarnish President Biden by focusing on Hunter Biden’s troubles and financial dealings in Ukraine and China. He noted that Republicans claimed Hunter Biden received preferential treatment.

Stephanopoulos, a veteran of former President Bill Clinton’s administration, turned to ABC’s White House correspondent Mary Bruce, acknowledging that Hunter Biden’s case has been a source of both political and personal heartache for President Biden.

“There’s no question that this is painful for the president, personally and politically,” Bruce said. “He is a devoted father who has stood by his son throughout his struggles with addiction and this investigation, firmly believing that Hunter did nothing wrong. However, it is evident that Republicans will not let this go.”

Abrams then delved into the legal aspect of the case, emphasizing, “I think it made an enormous difference here… if this wasn’t Hunter Biden, it is likely he wouldn’t have been prosecuted at all.”

“On the gun issue, typically that is not something that gets charged alone. Almost never does that particular charge about lying—” Abrams began.

“There are thousands of cases a year,” Stephanopoulos interjected.

“Thousands would get prosecuted if that was the charge. But with that said, it does seem the facts support a guilty plea on these charges,” Abrams stated, doubling down. “But if he wasn’t Hunter Biden, you have to believe there wouldn’t have been a prosecution.”
