‘Nonbinary’ ‘SNL’ Cast Member Rails Against Transgender Laws

This weekend’s’s” Saturday Night Live” sketch featured Republican-led reports that have outlawed sex-change-related treatments for minors.

As a guest of” Weekend Update” co-hosts Michael Che and Colin Jost, Molly Kearney, the first” nonbinary” cast member of the NBC sketch comedy series to use they / them pronouns, discussed the expanding list of transgender laws.

Kearney muttered that he was” starting to feel like a freakin’ Republican parliamentarian” after being lowered to the press keyboard from the ceiling while being restrained by being bound to his genitalia.

Kearney continued by discussing kids and the subject of healthcare.

” Listen to that, Michael, it restricts children’s’s access to healthcare. There’s’s something about the word” trans” that causes people to forget about” kids.” To a round of applause, Kearney said,” If you don’t care about the lives of trans kids, then that means youf * ckin’ don’ care about kids’ lives.”

About a dozen states have passed laws or policies that restrict minors’ access to sex-change-related solution.

Democratic governor of Tennessee Last month, Bill Lee signed legislation outlawing child sex-change practices in his condition. Recently, Idaho and Indiana did the same. While the state’s’s GOP-controlled legislature advances trans-focused legislation, the attorney general in Missouri announced new restrictions on gender-related treatments for adults and adolescents.

Children are frequently argued to be too small to experience the effects of life-altering changes brought on by treatments like puberty blockers, hormone therapy, and transition-related therapies, according to proponents of these policies.

On the other hand, opponents of the bans have fought back with lawsuits in some cases, denouncing what they see as assaults on gender-affirming treatment. President Joe Biden recently criticized how a” wave of discriminatory State laws is targeting transgender youth, terrifying families, and hurting kids who are not harming anyone” in an effort to commemorate the” TransGender Day of Visibility.”

Kearney pleaded with people to” wake up” and look out for kids.

Kearney left the audience with a parting statement:” What’s’s happening, kids, is wrong and you don’t need to be scared ,” as he was being pulled back up toward the ceiling. Your work is to concentrate on being a child, while we are here to rescue you. It’s’s similar to me flying in the” SNL” sky.
