Republican Nikki Haley Warns Reelecting Biden Would Give Harris the Presidency

“Let’s be very clear if they think it’s going to be President Biden — a vote for President Biden: It’s actually a vote for President Harris,”

“We are running against Kamala Harris. Make no bones about it. … Every liberal knows it. They know that it’s Kamala Harris that’s going to end up being president of the United States if Joe Biden wins this election,”

Republican presidential hopeful Nikki Haley has issued a warning that reelecting President Joe Biden in 2024 would actually give Vice President Kamala Harris the presidency instead. Haley, a former ambassador and governor of South Carolina, claimed “every liberal knows” that if Biden is reelected, then it would actually be Harris who is in the Oval Office.

Renewed Calls for Mental Competency Tests for Presidential Candidates

The Republican hopeful also renewed her calls for mental competency tests for presidential candidates over the age of 75, claiming it could be unsafe for the country to let someone who was not mentally competent make national security decisions.

“I am telling you, we’ve got to get past having all of these people that are older in D.C. We’ve done that long enough. We need term limits. We need mental competency tests for people over the age of 75,”

“I don’t care if we do it for people over the age of 50, but these are people that need to be at the top of their game. They’re making decisions on our national security. They’re making decisions on our children’s economic future. We can’t continue down this path.”

Republicans have repeatedly questioned whether Biden, the oldest president in U.S. history, is up to serving as commander in chief for four more years. A poll in November also revealed that two-thirds of U.S. voters did not think Biden should run again in 2024.

Biden’s ability to lead for another four years was most recently questioned after the president tripped during a commencement ceremony for the Air Force Academy in Colorado last week. Biden tripped on what aides later identified as a sandbag while handing out a diploma. The president was quickly helped back up to his feet by Secret Service and Air Force officials.

Implications for Trump

Should Haley’s recommendation that those over 75 be tested for mental competency when running for the presidency be implemented, former President Donald Trump, the top contender for the Republican nomination, would also need to take the test. Trump will turn 77 on June 14.
