Nikki Haley criticizes DeSantis for alleged high heel usage.
Former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley Mocks Gov. Ron DeSantis Over High Heel Rumors
During a lively appearance on the Daily Show with guest host Charlamagne Tha God, Haley playfully addressed the topic of her footwear choices for the upcoming third GOP primary debate. Charlamagne couldn’t resist asking if she planned to wear heels to appear taller than her potential 2024 opponent, Ron DeSantis.
“Are you wearing higher heels than Ron DeSantis next week at the debate so that you can look taller than him on the stage?”
Charlamagne inquired mischievously.
Haley responded with a hint of humor, “I don’t know. We’ll have to figure that out. I can tell you: I’ve always talked about my high heels. I’ve never hid that from anybody. I’ve always said, ‘Don’t wear ’em if you can’t run in ’em,’ so we’ll see if he can run in ’em.”
The discussion surrounding DeSantis’s alleged use of lifts in his boots gained momentum after he was confronted about it during an appearance on Patrick Bet-David’s PBD Podcast. Bet-David presented a viral video from DeSantis’s appearance on Real Time With Bill Maher, which showed his boots. However, DeSantis firmly denied the accusations.
“No, no. Those are just standard, off-the-rack Lucchese boots,”
he asserted, refuting the claims of lifts in his boots.
Undeterred, Bet-David “gifted” DeSantis a pair of tennis shoes and encouraged him to wear them. The controversy continued as Zephan Parker, a bootmaker from Houston’s Parker Boot Company, claimed in an interview with Politico that he had assisted politicians with lifts, including DeSantis.
DeSantis’s team, however, vehemently denied these allegations.
