Newt Gingrich: Fire Buttigieg: Mediocrity Kills
Incompetence should never be tolerated. Joe Biden should sack the Department of Transportation Sec. Buttigieg and bring accountability for the failures of his administration.
President Joe Biden must fire Pete Buttigieg, Transportation Secretary. From the computer meltdown at Southwest Airlines, The unprecedented collapse of air travel by the Federal Aviation Administration (the first time that every plane has been grounded since 9/11), The total inability to respond to the humanitarian crisis triggered by the disaster at Norfolk Southern Rail in East Palestine, Ohio, Buttigieg proved he was incapable of performing the job.
Biden’s woke personnel policies placed South Bend, Indiana’s mayor (a city of 103,000), in charge of the most complex transportation system worldwide. It has been a frustrating mismatch between identity politics, and the real world’s demands.
Victor Davis Hanson Recently wrote, “Our government is playing with our lives as it prefers diversity, equity, and inclusion over ensuring the best qualified employees are hired on the basis of racially and gender-blind competitive tests and experience.”
Sen. Marco Rubio was absolutely right when he demanded that Secretary Buttigieg is fired. Sen. Rubio pointed out rightly that Buttigieg “has repeatedly demonstrated a gross level of incompetence and apathy” This has been shown to be harmful to Americans.
Rubio stated that Buttigieg had prioritized setting up woke social programs for his entire term and neglected his core duties. He avoided addressing the East Palestine, Ohio, tragedy until he couldn’t anymore – and still refuses to accept any responsibility for our national railway system. He also ignored the seaborne logistics problems in 2021, went on vacation in Portugal during a strike of critical rail workers last year, and has been absent as critical transportation systems have been destroyed.
Sen. Rubio is correct. “I do not have confidence that Secretary Buttigieg is capable of keeping the American people safe.”
The East Palestine rail disaster, in my view, is the end. If the Secretary of Transportation is unable to find the time or energy to visit the area, take a look at the site, he will coordinate his efforts to help fellow Americans. Meanwhile, The President Biden visited Kiev instead of East Palestine. He enthusiastically promised more money for Ukraine, while his Federal Emergency Management Agency rejected Gov. Mike DeWine’s request to declare an emergency
Incompetents are a major problem that undermines the government’s performance. There are many examples. There are 23 schools located in Baltimore City., None of the 2,000 students meets math standards. The intelligence community was completely wrong about Ukraine and Afghanistan.. The United States could be left short of defense equipment because of the current failure in the Defense procurement process. Clearly corrupt and dishonest senior agents in the FBI suffer no consequences for meddling in politics – over multiple elections. This list could go on.
You can start to bring accountability for failures at the Secretary of Transportation.
