Newsom Announces Campaign For … Democracy? Cali Gov Takes A Roadtrip To Red States.

Governor Gavin Newsom of California is launching a national “Campaign for Democracy.” Newsom is planning to target red states with proposals aimed at expanding access to voting, combating authoritarianism, and upholding individual liberties.

Specifically, Newsom is targeting states with effective state legislators and governors who have implemented laws that protect children in the womb, strengthen the education curriculum, and prioritize America’s sovereignty.

In a promotional video, Newsom stated that authoritarian leaders in state after state are attacking America’s freedoms. He then proceeded to mention Republican governors Ron DeSantis, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and Greg Abbott. Newsom criticized their stances on books, doctors, teachers, librarians, migrants, trans kids, racism, and anti-Semitism.

Newsom’s initiative has been seen by some as a sign that he is covertly launching a presidential campaign for 2024. While this may not be the case, his underlying message is clear: Red states need to change their “un-American” and “undemocratic” ways.
