Whistleblower exposes fear culture in transgender treatment at Texas Children’s Hospital.

Second Whistleblower Exposes “Activist” Doctors at Texas Children’s Hospital

A second whistleblower has come out describing “activist” doctors at Texas Children’s Hospital and the “culture of fear” around gender treatments for children.

Last week, City Journal reported that the country’s largest children’s hospital performs sex change procedures on children as young as 11. Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston inserted an implantable puberty blocker in multiple children, including at least one 11-year-old, according to whistleblower documents obtained by City Journal’s Christopher Rufo.

The hospital performed these procedures despite Texas Children’s Hospital executives saying in March of last year that they would stop performing transgender medical procedures on minors due to legal and criminal liability concerns.

New Whistleblower Speaks Out

The whistleblower said many of Dr. Richard Roberts’ trans-identifying patients have other mental conditions like autism, previous suicide attempts, depression, anxiety, and disabilities, according to their charts.

Roberts will up a female patient’s testosterone doses if she wants it, according to the whistleblower, and he has referred children out of state for double mastectomies.

Children are sometimes placed on puberty blockers as soon as the same day, the whistleblower said.

“So yes, we’re ruining them,” the whistleblower said. “They’re going to wake up in ten years and discover that they’re infertile, that they can’t have children, that their sexuality is completely dysfunctional. That they can’t function as a normal human being. And ultimately, I believe that that realization is going to cause them to harm themselves — when they wake up and realize that they’ve already been ruined.”

The whistleblower also said the hospital as a whole has “completely gone full-blown woke” when it comes to trans-identifying minors. Parents are scared of being reported to Child Protective Services or of driving their child to suicide or self-harm, the whistleblower said. They are “intimidated” by the powerful doctors that are on the side of the child.

Other Employees Afraid to Speak Out

At least two other Texas Children’s Hospital employees feel similarly, the whistleblower said, but they don’t share their opinions because they are afraid to lose their jobs. There is a “culture of fear” at the hospital around transgender medical procedures for children, the whistleblower said.

An estimated 300,000 minors aged 13 to 17 identified as transgender as of last year.
