Intensified probe into election overturn attempts.

A⁢ New Criminal Investigation into‍ Alleged Attempts ⁤to Overturn the ⁣2020 Presidential Election

A new‌ criminal investigation is currently underway ‍in ‌the Grand𝅺 Canyon State, focusing on alleged attempts by Republicans to overturn the results of the 2020⁤ presidential election.

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes,‍ a Democrat, assigned a group of prosecutors to the case back⁢ in May. The investigation appears‍ to center around 22 Republicans who signed ⁢and‍ transmitted official documents claiming to be the state’s chosen electors for Trump ⁣in⁣ the electoral college, as ⁢reported by The Washington ⁢Post.

According to the ‌report, one set of documents was signed by GOP activists,⁣ while another set was signed⁣ by 𝅺Arizona‍ Republican ‌Party Chair ⁣Kelli Ward⁢ and other high-profile Republicans.

Investigators have already⁢ made⁤ contact with many ‍of⁢ those who allegedly signed the documents and their attorneys.

At this⁤ point, ‍Trump⁣ does⁢ not appear to be a target in the criminal investigation. However,‌ this could change if new⁣ evidence⁢ emerges in the case. ‌A similar 𝅺criminal‍ investigation is also ⁤underway in ⁤Michigan regarding⁤ alleged attempts by Republicans to𝅺 overturn the election results.

Multiple⁤ Criminal Indictments and Investigations Surrounding Trump

In addition to⁤ the ongoing criminal investigation in ⁢Arizona, former President Trump is already ⁤facing indictment in two cases. One⁤ case, brought by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, is considered by many to be weak and⁣ politically motivated.⁣ The other‍ case, led by special counsel Jack Smith, is seen as 𝅺far more serious.

Furthermore, Trump is also facing a criminal indictment in Georgia‌ for‌ his attempts ‍to overturn the‍ 2020 presidential election. Additionally, he is the subject of a second federal criminal investigation ⁣by 𝅺Smith on ⁤the same matter.

According ⁣to The Washington Post’s report at the beginning of the month, Trump ⁣allegedly⁢ tried to pressure then-Arizona Governor Doug Ducey 𝅺to𝅺 overturn the𝅺 state’s𝅺 presidential‍ election ⁤results. The ‍report states that ⁤Trump repeatedly ‍asked ‍then-Vice⁤ President ‌Mike Pence ⁣to contact Ducey and ⁣find⁢ evidence to support his⁣ claims.

When ‌asked ‌about𝅺 this, Pence told CBS News earlier ‌this ⁤month that he did not recall any pressure. He mentioned⁣ that⁤ he ⁤had checked⁢ in with governors across the nation whose states were going through the legal‌ process⁣ of reviewing their election results.
