NBA star places massive bet on Spencer Pratt in LA mayoral race

Milwaukee Bucks forward Kyle Kuzma reportedly placed a $36,069 bet through Kalshi on Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt to win the upcoming election. Kuzma, a 2020 NBA champion with the Lakers, posted the wager on X and said it was part of a “parlay.”

The bet was expected to pay out about $133,588.89. After criticism, Kuzma defended the move, writing that “LA has been cooked.”

Pratt is running against incumbent Mayor karen Bass and City councilmember nithya Raman. His mayoral campaign has gained meaningful recent attention from prominent figures, including remarks from President Donald Trump and support from turning Point CEO Erika Kirk. The Los Angeles primary is scheduled for June 2.

Kuzma responded to comments criticizing the bet, saying, “LA has been cooked since Covid what am I missing lol.”

Pratt is running against Mayor Karen Bass and LA City Councilwoman Nithya Raman to become the next mayor.

Pratt’s campaign for mayor has grown immensely over the past few weeks. He captured the attention of President Donald Trump, who said, “I’d like to see him do well.”

Turning Point CEO Erika Kirk also commented on Pratt’s campaign, calling him “authentically American.”
