Nancy Mace accuses Cory Mills of stolen valor in Hegseth hearing
Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) used her brief time during Pete Hegseth’s House armed Services Committee hearing to accuse Rep. Cory mills (R-FL) of stolen valor rather than问 any questions about the hearing topics. She said she introduced documents intended to contradict Mills’s claims about his military service, including an alleged timeline issue involving a Bronze Star, and she also referenced an image she claimed involved Mills.
Mace said she views stolen valor as especially serious as she recently buried her father,a combat veteran, and she argued that dishonesty about service by someone claiming military honors dishonors those who served and died. After making her remarks, she praised Hegseth and moved on without further questioning.
Separately, Mills is facing ethics and political pressure amid allegations of domestic abuse and sexual misconduct, with Mace among the Republicans calling for his resignation.
Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) used her time during War Secretary Pete Hegseth’s hearing before the House armed services committee to accuse Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL) of stolen valor.
While Hegseth’s hearing was characterized by continued sparring with Democratic lawmakers over the war in Iran and the military budget, Mace used her five minutes to take things in a completely different direction. She didn’t present any questions to Hegseth; instead, she devoted her time to denouncing Mills and commemorating her father.
