My Special Needs Brother Isn’t A Budget Constraint. He’s A Blessing.

My youngest sibling has special needs is my baby sister. “little brother,” However, Michael Hugo, the defamed Democratic chairman for the Framingham city council in Massachusetts, would most likely call him a “”budget constraint” — at least that’s what his recent comments imply.

Hugo attended an earlier Framingham City Council meeting. voiced complaints About the cost of special education, for children with disabilities. His remarks were met with backlash by both the political parties and families of special needs children. Hugo issued the following statement: public apology Ten days later, he attempted to reverse his ableist stance. He apologized and called his comments “inappropriate”. “offensive and hurtful.”

Hugo was not satisfied and had to be released. step down From his position.

I have serious ideological disagreements with this discriminatory, pro-abortion agenda — but to me, this goes beyond that. It’s personal.

Hugo started his comments by criticizing pregnancy resource centers (PRCs) for saving lives. He then questioned the integrity of PRCS sonographers, claiming that they would misdiagnose defects. “proclaiming that it is a beautiful child living inside the mother.”

Nicholas is my little brother. Was A beautiful child was living in my mother’s womb when she heard about a 37 week ultrasound showing a fetal anomaly. Doctors noticed that my brother had an abnormality on his head and thought it was a bloodclot. It turned out to have been a rare brain tumour.

Michael Hugo and other abortion supporters believe this is the best time to force a mother to have an abortion. My mom was 37-weeks pregnant in a conservative state and fully believed in her child’s dignity. But, abortion violence is often the result of a fetal diagnosis. An example: 60 – 90% The United States has a lower percentage of Down Syndrome-related children than the United States. 18% of all pregnancies Abortion is the end.

I was recently at the 2023 March for Life in Washington, D.C., holding a sign that said, “A Diagnosis Should Not be a Death Sentence” In response to the alarmingly large number of abortions caused by fetal diagnosis. It doesn’t change that the issue is moral, but many of these diagnoses can be wrong. The New York Times has reported The majority of positive prenatal tests results are wrong, with 85% being false.

Ableism clearly starts in the womb for abortion supporters — but it doesn’t end there.

Nicholas was born moments after this. My mom was told by the neonatologist that my baby’s life would be saved. “not be worth much.” He said Nicholas would. “be a vegetable,” It is unlikely that Nicholas could walk, talk, and keep up with his peers.

Nicholas is now a healthy 12-year-old boy who runs, talks up a storm, swims competitively, and loves his trampoline — although to be clear, his life would still be equally valuable even if the neonatologist had been correct.

Yes, he is able to live his daily life with special needs. He receives specialized medical attention, as well educational and developmental support from an occupational therapist and a reading specialist. Although his life is very different from mine in many ways, it doesn’t mean that his life is not worth living.

Hugo, however, sees these “special services” designed to help my brother, but it was too expensive. He said: “Our school budget will have to absorb the cost of a child in special education, supplying lots and lots of special services to children, who were born with the defect.

My brother is now financially stressed by his statement. “defect.” This is a cruel stance that denies Nicholas’ resilience and the heartbreak of children with special needs. They overcome the odds and survive multiple surgeries, diagnoses, treatments, and more.

Hugo’s position is shocking to me, but I don’t find it surprising. It is in perfect alignment with Margaret Sanger’s beliefs, the founder of Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion vendor.

Just a little more than 100 years ago. Sanger wrote sentiments Similar to Hugo’s, saying: “No more children should be born when the parents, though healthy themselves, find that their children are physically or mentally defective.”

Eugenics was on the rise in Sanger’s day, and it is here today — Planned Parenthoods are tucked into suburbs across America doing the work she championed: ending the life of minority groups, those with intellectual disabilities, and even those with physical abnormalities.

Hugo and other Democrats need to be clear on their facts. They can’t be the party that celebrates diversity and supports the extermination of minorities through eugenics. They can’t be the party for equality and discriminate against students with special needs because of their expenses. They cannot be the party of inclusion when they directly and intentionally exclude an entire group of human beings — the pre-born — from the fundamental and constitutional right to life.

Hugo did, however, finally resign.Pre-born children who are dying in public support abortion. My prayer is that Americans who don’t know their position on abortion will lose all respect for the institution. “pro-choice” argument. It’s pro-discrimination at the end of it all.
