‘My Heart Refuses To Believe That I Was Left Alone’: Three Jewish Dads Murdered In Israel By Palestinian Terrorists

On Thursday night, as Yom Hatzmaut, Israel Independence Day, came to a close, two Palestinian terrorists in Elad wielding an axe and a knife brutally murdered three Jewish men, all fathers who left behind 16 children.

Yonatan Habakkuk, father of five, Boaz Gol, father of five, and Oren Ben Yiftach, father of six, were murdered by the terrorists.

This is Oren Ben Yiftah, Yonatan Havakuk and Boaz Gol, the 3 Israelis, murdered by axe-wielding Palestinian terrorists in #Elad last night, for one reason only – they were Jews.

“My heart refuses to believe that I was left alone with five orphans,” Limor Habakkuk said of her murdered husband. Habakkuk’s brother-in-law added, “He helped everyone with a smile, the whole city called him ‘brother.’ There is no substitute for this man.”

Gol’s son told Kan News, “Dad went to a Torah lesson and was murdered … I still haven’t digested it yet,” the Jerusalem Post reported.

Ben Yiftach was murdered sitting in his car after he had driven to Elad to take a rabbi there.

“Boaz, Yonatan, and Oren were not killed because they were Haredi; they were killed because they are Jews in Israel,” Rabbi Avraham Nachson of Elad said. “The terrorists wanted to harm Jews; they are coming for us all. In this war we must win and we will win,” Israel National News reported.

The mayor of Lod, Yair Revivo, asserted, “I urge the government to decree the death penalty for terrorists and prevent the Palestinian Authority from paying them for their actions.”

Palestinians and their supporters had called for violence against Jews, claiming falsely that the Israelis were endangering Al-Aqsa mosque on the Temple Mount.

Even the method for murdering Jews had been suggested by Hamas:

On April 26, The Daily Wire reported:

Some 4,625 Jewish pilgrims visited the Temple Mount last week in honor of Passover, with many subjected to harassment by Muslim rioters who shouted “Allahu Akbar” and “Kill the Jews” as they made their way around the site surrounded by a heavy police guard. Muslim rioters blocked their path with barriers and smashed glass bottles open the ground where many Jews walked barefoot.

The rioting, which was encouraged by some Arab leaders, was reportedly in protest of Jewish visitation to the Temple Mount. “Dozens of rioters threw stones and fired fireworks at police after the early morning Fajr prayer,” according to Israeli police. Videos circulating on social media show rioters shooting fireworks at police from within the Al-Aqsa Mosque located on the south of the Temple Mount compound, prompting a response from Israeli forces.

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh issued a statement in which he threatened further escalation of violence if Jews continue ascending the Temple Mount. “I tell Israel that if it thinks that the incursion of al-Aqsa will change its Islamic identity, it is delusional. What the settlers are doing in the mosque will push for conflict and confrontation on all levels. We are still at the beginning of the campaign.”
