Multiple People Struck and Dragged as Man in U-Haul Goes on NYC Rampage

A man driving a U-Haul “went on a rampage” In Bay Ridge, Brooklyn According to a New York City Councilman, Monday morning. 

The New York City Police Department It was confirmed that at least four victims were hurt. However, conditions remain unknown.

Police said that a male suspect was taken into police custody at Hamilton Ave. and Columbia St. 

The suspect “was just apprehended in Sunset Park,” Councilman Justin Brannan tweeted. “Several people were hit and badly injured. We have no idea of motives at this time, but this wasn’t an accident.” 

NYPD bomb squad is on the scene to examine the truck for potential explosives.

The Associated Press reported that the truck driver fled the scene after he mounted a Brooklyn sidewalk and injured several people.

Police stopped the truck at the entrance of a tunnel connecting Brooklyn to Manhattan.

Brannan thanked NYPD’s 72nd & 68th precincts and promised more information soon. 

WABC reported one of the victims was a man in his late 30s who was taken to Lutheran Hospital and placed in critical condition.
