‘Ms. Heard Hit Me, Is That Better?’: Depp Pokes At Heard Lawyer While Taking The Stand Second Time

Taking the stand for the second time in his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard, actor Johnny Depp testified that Heard gave him a black eye during their honeymoon, while seeming to take a jab at Heard’s lawyer Ben Rottenborn.

“Ms. Heard hit me, is that better?” Depp said on the stand, looking toward Rottenborn, who was objecting to the actor’s response as non-responsive.

Depp’s team showed the court two photos of Depp and Heard on the Orient Express during their honeymoon in 2015. The photo, according to Depp, shows a “shiner” or “black eye” he received from Heard hitting him.

The honeymoon had both good times and bad times, Depp testified.

“I had a sort of shiner, but it all ended and everything got fine again,” he told the court, the New York Post reported. “We’d go to dinner.”

When Heard testified earlier this month about the pair’s honeymoon, the actress said she feared for her life.

“I thought he might actually kill me,” she said of Depp. “I thought I might die.”

Earlier on Wednesday, supermodel Kate Moss said Depp never pushed her down any stairs, seemingly contradicting testimony from Heard.

Depp and Moss dated during the 1990s.

“We were leaving the room, and Johnny left the room before I did, and there had been a rainstorm,” Moss recalled on the stand, discussing a Jamaican vacation she took with Depp during the 1990s. “And as I left the room, I slipped down the stairs and I hurt my back.”

“And I scream … because I didn’t know what happened to me,” Moss continued, speaking via videoconference. “I was in pain and he [Depp] came running back to help me and carried me to my room and got me medical attention.”

“Did Mr. Depp in any way push you down the stairs?” Depp lawyer Ben Chew asked the model.

“No,” Moss responded.

“During the course of your relationship, did he ever push you down any stairs?”

“No,” she said. “He never pushed me, kicked me, or threw me down any stairs.”

Depp’s team was looking forward to getting Moss on the stand, it seems, as they were spotted “fist-pumping” when Heard brought up the model during testimony.

“I just, in my head, instantly think of Kate Moss and stairs, and I swung at him,” Heard said on the stand, telling the jury why she hit Depp during the alleged 2015 incident.
