More Despicable Allegations Emerge About Rep. George Santos

Rep. George Santos is known as the Long Island Liar and is an excellent piece of work.

Already, the New York Republican has admitted to uttering a number of lies during his campaign for Congress. A new allegation, if true would make him more deplorable.

Santos allegedly conned a disabled and homeless military veteran out of thousands of dollars — which were donated to help save the man’s dying service dog, Patch reported Wednesday

The veteran, Richard Osthoff, told Patch that he met Santos — who introduced himself as Anthony Devolder — when he was going through tough times in May 2016. Osthoff served in the Navy, and was honorably discharged in 2002. He was living in a tent in an old chicken coop in New Jersey, with his service dog Sapphire.

Sapphire was diagnosed with a serious stomach cancer. Osthoff, now 47 years old, sought out help and found that it would cost $3,000. Osthoff was told by a veterinary technician that he knew someone who managed a pet charity. Anthony Devolder was the man who ran the pet charity Friends of Pets United.

Osthoff, and another veteran New Jerseyan, retired police sergeant. Michael Boll “told Patch that Santos closed the GoFundMe he set up for Sapphire after it raised $3,000 on social media and disappeared.”

“He stopped answering my texts and calls,” Osthoff spoke to the local news station.

Boll stated that he reached out to the man from the pet charity and told him. “You’re messing with a veteran,” You should ask him to return the cash so Ostoff could have another service dog. “He was totally uncooperative on the phone,” Boll stated.

Sapphire was killed in the ensuing chaos. Ostoff is said to have had a last conversation with Santos. He claimed that Santos told him that Ostoff died because he was pregnant. “didn’t do things my way,” Santos had transferred the GoFundMe funds to the charity. “for other dogs.”

In a message, Santos wrote, “Remember it is our credibility that got GoFundme […] to contribute. We are audited like every 501c3 and we are with the highest standards of integrity.”

But (shocker) that wasn’t true, either. The New York Times published December’s article. reported The charity was not registered as a nonprofit.

Santos lied on almost everything during the 2022 election. He claimed he attended New York University, Baruch College, and that he worked at Citigroup and Goldman Sachs. He also stated that his grandparents escaped from the Holocaust. Santos also claimed that his mother was killed in the September 11 terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center.

Santos admitted to lying about his past, but said that “I am not a criminal.”

“This [controversy] will not deter me from having good legislative success. I will be effective. I will be good,” He told The New York Post. “My sins here are embellishing my resume. I’m sorry.”

“I didn’t graduate from any institution of higher learning. I’m embarrassed and sorry for having embellished my resume,” He said. “I own up to that … We do stupid things in life.”

Santos made a funny defense of his claim that he was Jewish.

“I never claimed to be Jewish,” Santos said. “I am Catholic. “I am Catholic because I found out my maternal family was Jewish. ‘Jew-ish.’”

In that interview, Santos defiantly dismissed an allegation that he had a criminal charge filed against him in Brazil. “I am not a criminal here — not here or in Brazil or any jurisdiction in the world,” Santos said. “Absolutely not. That didn’t happen.”

CNN will follow suit reported that Santos admitted to stealing a ​man’s checkbook to buy clothing and shoes in Brazil in 2008. According to the network, Santos will be brought back under fraud charges by law enforcement officers in Brazil.
