MLB roundup: Trayce Thompson’s 3 HRs power Dodgers’ rout
Trayce Thompson’s stellar performance helped the Los Angeles Dodgers secure a resounding 10-1 victory against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday. Thompson achieved career highs, knocking out three home runs and eight RBIs. In the first inning, he smashed a grand slam, followed by a three-run shot in the fifth inning, and a solo shot in the eighth inning. J.D. Martinez also hit his first homer as a Dodger.
Clayton Kershaw pitched an excellent six innings for the Dodgers, conceding one run and four hits while striking out nine and walking none. Christian Walker of the Diamondbacks hit a home run. Madison Bumgarner gave up five runs and four hits in four innings, including four walks and two strikeouts.
Other games played yesterday:

- The St. Louis Cardinals beat the Toronto Blue Jays 4-1 with Jack Flaherty and four relievers holding the Jays to just three hits.
- The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Chicago Cubs 3-1, avenging their loss on Opening Day. William Contreras hit a two-run single in the eighth inning, which proved decisive for the Brewers.
- The San Francisco Giants secured a 7-5 win over the New York Yankees, with LaMonte Wade Jr. and Thairo Estrada driving in runs on hits that did not leave the infield. The Yankees’ Giancarlo Stanton homered.
- The Atlanta Braves won 7-1 against the Washington Nationals, with Matt Olson hitting two home runs and Spencer Strider pitching six scoreless innings.
