MLB roundup: Trayce Thompson’s 3 HRs power Dodgers’ rout

Trayce Thompson’s stellar performance helped the Los Angeles Dodgers secure a resounding 10-1 victory against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday. Thompson achieved career highs, knocking out three home runs and eight RBIs. In the first inning, he smashed a grand slam, followed by a three-run shot in the fifth inning, and a solo shot in the eighth inning. J.D. Martinez also hit his first homer as a Dodger.

Clayton Kershaw pitched an excellent six innings for the Dodgers, conceding one run and four hits while striking out nine and walking none. Christian Walker of the Diamondbacks hit a home run. Madison Bumgarner gave up five runs and four hits in four innings, including four walks and two strikeouts.
