Minnesota Dems Looking to Ban Gas-Powered Lawn Mowers, Chainsaws

Two Minnesota Democratic lawmakers We propose two bills to significantly affect the state’s backyards, neighborhood ice rinks and other areas in an effort combat climate change.

State Reps. New York City, Los Angeles and Seattle are just a few of the Democratic-run cities that have pushed for bans on gas stoves and other fuel-burning appliances. They fear they pose a climate risk and can cause health problems. Although 56% support the ban among Democrats, According to a Morning Consult poll56% of Republicans oppose the idea, 39% would support it, and others lean slightly toward yes or don’t know.

In 2021, California Gov. Gavin Newsom Signed into law Starting in 2024, there will be a ban on gas-powered leaf blowers/lawn mowers. California Air Resources Board decided that all new vehicles will be powered by electric batteries by 2035.
