Ukrainian-born Mila Kunis and her husband, Ashton Kutcher, have been working hard on fundraising efforts to help aid the warring nation. The couple pledged up to $3 million of their own money in an effort to encourage followers to donate. Recently, the “That 70s’ Show” stars surpassed their goal of raising $30 million, earning them a personal thank you from Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelensky.

“They have already raised $35 million & are sending it to @flexport & @Airbnb to help refugees,” Zelensky tweeted on Sunday. “Grateful for their support. Impressed by their determination. They inspire the world. #StandWithUkraine.”

The tweet included an image of the Ukrainian president having a video call with the Hollywood A-listers.

Kunis has made clear her devotion to helping Ukraine, which stems in part from her heritage. The 38-year-old actress emigrated to the United States when she was a young child, but never forgot where she came from and has a deep love for her native land.

“Today, I am a proud Ukrainian,” Kunis shared in the GoFundMe fundraiser description. “While my family came to the United States in 1991, I was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine in 1983. Ukrainians are proud and brave people who deserve our help in their time of need. This unjust attack on Ukraine and humanity at large is devastating and the Ukrainian people need our support.”

Kunis and Kutcher are happy with how many of their followers donated, helping them reach the massive $30 million goal in just a few weeks. Kutcher shared a video update via his Instagram page saying as much.

“We are overwhelmed with gratitude for your support. 2 weeks ago we asked you to join us and more than 65,000 of you stepped up and donated what you could. Now, with your help we have reached our $30 million goal.,” he wrote in the caption. “While this is far from a solution for the problem, our collective effort will provide a softer landing for so many people as they forge ahead into their future of uncertainty. Our work is not done. We will do everything we can to ensure that the outpouring of love that came as a part of this campaign finds maximum impact with those in need.”

The actor went on to discuss how the money had already been distributed to partners Flexport.org and Airbnb.org so they can use the aid immediately. These organizations are targeting help to refugees, which are estimated to be 10 million, according to a recent report.

Flexport helps organize shipments of relief supplies to refugee sites in Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, and Moldova while Airbnb is providing free, short-term housing to refugees from Ukraine, according to CNN.

Other celebrities including Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, and Gigi Hadid, have also participated in fundraising efforts for Ukraine. Kunis and Kutcher’s campaign has raised the most money by far.
