Michael Knowles Explains How The Left Hoaxes Its Way To Power
Michael Knowles, a host on the Daily Wire, recently spoke at East Tennessee State University about the left’s use of hoaxes to gain power. He noted that he was warmly welcomed, in contrast to his last few speeches where he was met with screaming.
Knowles thanked the Young Democratic Socialists on campus for proving his point before he even began his speech. The organization had lobbied for the university to cancel Knowles’ invitation to speak, claiming that he advocated for the “genocide” of trans and queer people. This echoed false claims made by left-wing media outlets after Knowles’ initial speech where he called for “the complete eradication of transgenderism from public life.” Knowles clarified that he was not advocating for violence against anyone but was criticizing the ideology behind gender confusion.
Knowles argued that the left’s use of hoaxes to push their political agenda dates back to the 1960s, citing the incident at Cornell University where student activists staged a cross burning to justify seizing university buildings. He also mentioned the case of Jussie Smollett, who falsely claimed that he was assaulted by Trump supporters in an attempted lynching. Despite the story being proven false, those who had promoted it argued that it advanced a narrative about race hatred that served Democratic interests.
Knowles concluded that “time and time again, the incidents that liberals tout as justification for advancing their political agenda…turn out to be hoaxes. It is all Jussie Smollett, it is Jussie Smollett all the way down – especially on campuses.”
