Member of Anti-Catholic Group Arrested for Public Indecency
Clinton Monroe Ellis-Gilmore, a member of the anti-Catholic Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, was arrested last month after publicly masturbating at a California beach for approximately an hour.
The 53-year-old Ellis-Gilmore was “at that location for approximately one hour, sitting in his truck with the door open, masturbating,” per the sheriff’s report, which was obtained by the Daily Wire. Multiple people witnessed the drag queen pleasuring himself.
Google Reviews for the beach where he was cranking it suggest that people take their families there. Ellis-Gilmore’s arrest was first reported by a local website, which uncovered many of his social media posts. One of his posts, the Daily Wire reported, shows Ellis-Gilmore dressed in full drag and reading LGBT story books to elementary school children.
“Yesterday sisters had the most magical time reading story books to the Peninsula elementary school kids in recognition of them Studying LGBT awareness month! Thanks for the honor!” the post reads.
Ellis-Gilmore was charged with indecent exposure. If convicted, he will be required to register as a sex offender.
Controversy Surrounding the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence
The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence dress as drag queen nuns and promote sexual hedonism as a means of criticizing Catholic social teaching. The group became the center of controversy earlier this year after the Los Angeles Dodgers disinvited the “Sisters” from the team’s Pride Night, only to reinvite the group following pressure from left-wing activists. A California teachers’ union even went so far as to suggest that LGBT children might die if the Dodgers didn’t provide a platform for the anti-Catholic group.
Trevor Williams, a pitcher for the Washington Nationals, criticized the Dodgers for honoring the group.
“As a devout Catholic, I am deeply troubled by the Dodgers’ decision to re-invite and honor the group ‘The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence’ at their Pride Night this year,” he said, going on to state that the group “makes a blatant and deeply offensive mockery” of Catholicism.
