Kelly, the host of the Sirius XM podcast “The Megyn Kelly Show,” expressed how ridiculous it was for the Duchess of Sussex to receive such an award.
Kelly tweeted, “Was the vision glomming onto Prince Harry’s fame, his family’s stature & hurling about baseless racism claims against everyone who helped her?” and added the hashtags “nailed it” and “visionary.”
Her post included a tweet from the New York Post announcing that Gloria Steinem would be presenting Markle with the award.
Kelly’s criticism stems from claims that Markle made during her interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which she accused the royal family of racism, a lie that was later proven to be untrue.
Many Twitter users commented on the New York Post tweet, with most agreeing that Markle was not deserving of the award.
One user wrote, “For a woman of vision, can she see how much everyone hates her?” while another accused Markle and Steinem of “grifting social causes for [money].”
Another user brought up the recent episode of “South Park” that mocked Markle and Prince Harry’s apparent desire for attention even when they claim to want privacy.
