Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said the White House is directly assaulting the nation’s independent judiciary.
In a lengthy statement on Friday, McConnell slammed Democrats’ decision to form a commission to study packing the Supreme Court.
This new court-packing commission is not some serious pivot away from Democrats’ political attacks on the Court. It’s just an attempt to clothe those attacks in fake legitimacy.

McConnell said it’s another sign of the far-left’s influence over the Biden administration. He also asserted the move goes against a warning by the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg not to expand the number of seats on the high court.
The senator accused Democrats of politicizing the court and attacking norms and institutions, rather than working with them.
