The one-minute television spot includes Poindexter’s daughters — Ashley, Makayla, and Taylor — praising their father for his work ethic and dedication to family.

“He always shows up: for family dinner, for our games, to help with homework — even when he’s not helpful,” the daughters said. “He shows up for everyone: coworkers, neighbors, and our whole community. For anyone who’s getting hurt or needs a hand.”
Poindexter is seeking to unseat Miller, who has represented Ohio’s 7th Congressional District since 2023. As the Republican congressman seeks reelection this time around, he is facing scrutiny over his alleged treatment of Emily Moreno, his former wife, and their child.
Miller said last month that Emily Moreno was medically diagnosed with a mental illness. The lawmaker’s remark about his ex-wife prompted a fiery response from her father, Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH).
Despite the allegations, Miller has refused to resign from the House or drop his reelection bid. He is still backed by House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and President Donald Trump, though the latter has expressed doubts about the viability of Miller’s campaign.
Poindexter’s family-centric ad highlights the stark differences between himself and the allegations against Miller.
“Our dad is running for Congress because he knows every family here deserves that,” the Democratic nominee’s children said. “It’s not a campaign thing. That’s just Dad.”

The ad concluded with Poindexter saying: “I’m not going to D.C. for me. I’m going for my daughters — and yours.”
