Matt Walsh, host of the Daily Wire, has come out in defense of SpaceX CEO Elon Musk after the company’s Starship rocket exploded during a test flight. Walsh criticized the “peanut gallery” of critics who mocked the failed launch, pointing out that trial and error are essential to true innovation. “You have to walk before you can run,” he said. “This is what science and discovery are supposed to look like.” Musk himself confirmed that the company had learned from the experience and would continue to review data ahead of the next launch. Walsh cited President Theodore Roosevelt’s famous “Man in the Arena” speech, noting that the words of the Bull Moose hang on the wall in his office. “It is not the critic who counts,” Roosevelt said. “The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena.”
