Marsha Blackburn sues Jack Smith over her seized phone records
Senator Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee filed a lawsuit against former special counsel Jack Smith, challenging the lawfulness of his appointment and contesting the subpoena he issued for her phone records during the Arctic Frost inquiry. Jack smith previously faced Senate questioning regarding his investigation into President Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election. it was later revealed that Smith’s team secretly obtained phone records of several Republican lawmakers as part of the Arctic Frost probe.
Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) filed a lawsuit Wednesday against former special counsel Jack Smith over the subpoena of her phone records he issued during the Arctic Frost investigation. Blackburn also alleged his appointment was unlawful.
Smith faced a grilling before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday over his investigation and prosecution of President Donald Trump for allegedly attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 election. The Arctic Frost investigation was later revealed to have involved Smith’s team secretly obtaining the phone records of several Republican lawmakers.
