Manhattan Grand Jury Won’t Meet Wednesday, Potential Trump Indictment Delayed: Report

A grand jury in New York that was examining evidence of former President Donald Trump’s alleged involvement in a payment made to a porn star in 2016, will not convene on Wednesday, delaying any potential indictment until at least Thursday, according to The New York Times. This contradicts a report from the Daily Mail, which had suggested that an indictment was likely to be delivered on Wednesday.

Earlier this week, the grand jury case caused controversy after Donald Trump suggested that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg had planned to charge him and have him arrested on Tuesday. However, there were no indictments on that day.

News of the grand jury’s postponement comes two days after Robert Costello, a former federal prosecutor, testified in front of the grand jury. Costello attested to Michael Cohen, Trump’s former fixer, being untrustworthy. Cohen is believed to be the key witness in the case.

Legal analyst Alan Dershowitz stated during a Fox News appearance on Tuesday that Costello’s testimony may have derailed Bragg’s claims. Dershowitz stated that Costello’s attack on Cohen’s reliability may have killed Bragg’s chances of using Cohen as a witness.
